The Bliss

Huay Kaew Soi 2, Huay Kaew Road

The Bliss is a ~40-unit serviced apartment on Huay Kaew Soi 2, with a Trip.com rating of 8.3/10 from 41 reviews and a NomadRental score of 4.65/5. It has a reputation as a digital nomad hub — one reviewer described floors "buzzing with people working on their online projects." Maya Mall is about a 5-minute walk across Huay Kaew Road (not 10 minutes as sometimes listed). The soi itself is quiet and residential. Based on blog reviews from expats who stayed 1-6 months, room quality is decent but aging — described as "clean but a little tired looking." The building has or has had an OYO partnership (listed as "OYO The Bliss Hotel" on Booking.com), which may explain some service inconsistency in recent reviews.

Popular with digital nomads — you'll see laptops on every floor. But the big thing nobody mentions upfront: it's directly under the Chiang Mai airport flight path. Planes from early morning to late night. Some people adapt after a few days, others can't stand it. The kitchen in Grand Deluxe rooms is barely functional — one-setting cooker, rusty knife, two spoons. The 'Sealy beds' marketing doesn't match recent guest reports of hard, aging mattresses. That said, Maya Mall is genuinely a 5-minute walk and the soi itself is quiet. Come for the Nimman proximity and nomad community, not the room quality.

Expat Tips

Maya Mall is genuinely a 5-minute walk, and core Nimman (Soi 9/12 area) about 10-12 minutes. 7-Eleven is 2 minutes away
WiFi is included and described as "decent" by blog reviewers. No speed test data available, but one long-term reviewer had no complaints during remote work
Bathtubs are only in Grand Deluxe and Suite rooms — not available in Superior. Confirm your room type if this matters
Weekly cleaning and linen change included. Self-service laundry room (30 THB per load) or external laundry shop (130 THB)
Grand Deluxe (45 sqm) is the sweet spot for long stays. An expat blogger paid 15,000 THB/month for this room type; another paid 18,000 THB. Rates are negotiable depending on season and length of stay
Request a west-facing room to avoid morning sun heat. East-facing units warm up significantly

Gotchas

The building is directly under the Chiang Mai airport flight path. From an expat blog: "Several times a day from early morning to late night you will hear planes overhead. Does it get noisy? Yes it does." With windows closed it's manageable for some — one reviewer committed to 6 months despite it. For others it's a dealbreaker
Kitchen in Grand Deluxe rooms is poorly equipped despite being advertised. From a detailed stay review: single electric cooker with only "off or very hot" settings, "rusted kitchen knife," two teaspoons, two forks. The reviewer bought their own wok, pan, and knife for 405 THB
The "Sealy beds" claim appears on the official website but recent Trip.com reviews tell a different story: "The bed was so hard it made my shoulders ache" and "Old bed." Bed quality appears inconsistent or degraded over time
No pool and no gym — a significant gap at 15,000-30,000 THB/month when nearby condos like Punna Nimman, Hillside, or The Siri offer both
Electric at 8 THB/unit adds up — an expat reported 536 THB for a ~25-day stay. Run AC conservatively
Water pressure and temperature issues reported by multiple reviewers. Management responsiveness is mixed — some praise friendly staff, others experienced contract miscommunication and refund refusals
